The Pirineo Click fair returns to La Seu d'Urgell, attracting fans of Playmobil figures with free entry and various activities. The event aims to foster family play and community engagement.
After a six-year absence, La Seu d’Urgell has reestablished itself as a hub for Playmobil enthusiasts with the launch of the Pirineo Click fair. This vibrant event, which runs until Sunday at the Sant Domènec hall and El Passeig Civic Center, is designed to rekindle interest in these iconic figures among both children and adults.
The inaugural edition of Pirineo Click features over ten large dioramas created by passionate collectors from across Catalonia, including local talent. With free admission, the fair not only showcases intricate models but also promotes shared family experiences through play.
“We have revived this event under the title of Pirineo Click,” stated Joan Barrera, the mayor of La Seu d’Urgell. He emphasized the significance of bringing back an event that had previously garnered substantial attention. The dioramas transport visitors into diverse worlds—from ancient history to pirate adventures and even scenes inspired by popular culture like ‘Bridgerton’.
Among the exhibitors is fifteen-year-old Cesc Seira, who stands out as the youngest participant. His diorama titled ‘Knights vs. Samurai’ depicts a historical episode from when the Philippines was part of the Spanish Empire. This elaborate model features over thirty knights and samurai figures alongside various landscapes.
“We want children to play again,”
said Sílvia Caravaca, president of the Pirineo Click association. She highlighted that engaging children in creative storytelling through play is central to their mission. Plans are already underway for a second edition where local kids can create and display their own models.
The nostalgia factor is palpable among attendees like Miriam Arró, who fondly remembers previous fairs. She praised this year’s high-quality dioramas while sharing her family’s ongoing collection efforts that recently included a Victorian house set.
The fair also features three specialized shops—some vendors traveling from Germany—alongside craft areas and an interactive game called BuscaClick. This activity encourages visitors to find hidden figures within both dioramas and storefronts throughout La Seu d’Urgell’s commercial district, in collaboration with local merchants.
In addition to its entertainment value, Pirineo Click has a charitable component; proceeds from ticket sales will benefit La Seu Solidària, supporting vital social projects in the community.
This revival not only marks a significant cultural moment for La Seu d’Urgell but also reinforces its commitment to fostering community spirit through playful engagement. Visitors can explore this unique celebration until Sunday evening at both venues mentioned above.
