An exclusive dinner at the Candlelight restaurant featured renowned chefs Amaury Bouhours, Romain Fornell, and Oriol Fernández. This event highlights the fusion of French and Mediterranean cuisines.

In a remarkable culinary event held on Saturday night, the Candlelight restaurant at Hostal de La Gavina brought together three acclaimed chefs for an exclusive six-hands dinner. This unique gathering marked the first time that Amaury Bouhours, executive chef of Le Meurice in Paris, collaborated with Romain Fornell and Oriol Fernández in Spain.

The dinner was part of the twelfth edition of the Candlelight Gastronomic Festival, which aims to celebrate exceptional culinary talent. Guests were treated to a meticulously crafted menu that showcased a blend of French haute cuisine and Mediterranean flavors, reflecting the distinct backgrounds and styles of each chef.

The evening featured signature dishes from both Le Meurice and Candlelight, highlighting the elegance and precision characteristic of Parisian fine dining while incorporating local Mediterranean ingredients. Notable menu items included caviar tartlet with confit egg and horseradish, Roscoff spider crab, blue lobster, red tuna with tomato, coastal red mullet, and Burgundy rabbit. The meal concluded with a sweet creation designed by Bouhours’ team.

Romain Fornell expressed his enthusiasm about hosting Bouhours at Candlelight: “Welcoming a chef like Amaury Bouhours is a privilege and an excellent opportunity to strengthen historical ties between French and Mediterranean cuisine.” His sentiments were echoed by Bouhours himself, who emphasized the uniqueness of cooking alongside local talent against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.

This collaboration not only highlights individual culinary artistry but also reinforces Hostal de La Gavina’s commitment to making the Candlelight Gastronomic Festival a premier platform for international culinary exchange. Over its twelve-year history, this festival has consistently attracted top chefs from around the world to create unforgettable menus alongside local experts.

The event serves as a reminder of how gastronomy can transcend borders through shared knowledge and creativity. As attendees savored each dish, they experienced firsthand how diverse culinary traditions can come together harmoniously.

The next opportunity for food enthusiasts to engage with this festival will be during its upcoming events throughout summer 2026. Reservations are recommended due to high demand as guests flock to experience these unique gastronomic offerings in S’Agaró.
