During this closure, approximately 43,000 passengers who typically use the corridor daily will need to exit the station and navigate through the streets to transfer between lines. This detour requires travelers to walk about 300 meters, either towards the entrance at the corner of Pelai Street and La Rambla for line 3 or to the north access point of Plaça Catalunya for line 1.
The renovation includes significant upgrades such as vertical cladding work, civil engineering tasks, installation updates, and communication improvements. Notably, asbestos removal is also part of this project, although that area has been previously restricted from public access.
This initiative comes with a budget of €1.2 million, reflecting TMB’s commitment to enhancing safety and comfort in one of Barcelona’s busiest transit hubs.
