On June 24, several supermarkets in Barcelona will open their doors to serve citizens during the Sant Joan festival. Despite widespread closures, some chains will offer special hours.

On June 24, Sant Joan will be celebrated, a festival that marks the beginning of summer and is particularly significant in Catalonia. Although many businesses will remain closed due to regulations on commercial openings on holidays, some supermarkets have decided to open their doors to serve customers. Among them are Caprabo, Condis, and Carrefour, which will offer adapted hours to facilitate shopping during this celebration.

The chain Caprabo, with a long history in Barcelona since its founding, has announced that several of its stores will be open with special hours. The company recommends that customers check the availability of their local store through its website.

On the other hand, Condis, which has more than 568 establishments in Catalonia and Andorra, will also maintain regular hours on Sant Joan. Consumers will be able to access their stores from 9 am to 11 pm, although it is advisable to consult the online locator to confirm specific hours.

The French chain Carrefour will open some of its stores located in tourist areas, while others will remain closed. Most Carrefour Express stores will be operational. To avoid inconveniences, it is recommended to check specific hours according to location.

Despite being a holiday, other supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl generally do not open; however, some selected establishments may be available between 12 pm and 8 pm. This is especially true in tourist towns like Barcelona and Salou.

However, chains like Mercadona, known for closing on holidays and Sundays, will not open their doors on this day. Therefore, those looking for fresh or basic products will need to consider other available options.

In addition to these traditional supermarkets, Consum, another Valencian chain with a presence in Catalonia, is also expected to open several establishments with special hours to serve customers during this popular festival.

As the day of Sant Joan approaches, it is crucial for consumers to verify the specific opening hours through the official websites of each supermarket. This will allow them to better plan their shopping and fully enjoy the festive atmosphere without setbacks.

Sant Joan not only represents a religious celebration; it is also a significant cultural moment where families and friends gather to enjoy outdoor meals and fireworks. With this in mind, having access to open supermarkets may be essential for those wishing to stock up before the official start of summer.
