Companies and self-employed individuals in Begues can request up to five bicycles for free for their work-related travel. The initiative, promoted by the AMB, aims to encourage the use of bicycles for work.
Companies and self-employed workers in Begues have a new opportunity to facilitate their work-related travel. From today, they can request up to five bicycles for free through the Biciempresa 2026 programme, which will remain open until 30 October. This initiative, promoted by the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), aims to encourage the use of bicycles as a sustainable means of transport for daily commutes to work.
The programme offers a variety of options including electric and mechanical bicycles, as well as folding and family models known as “long tail”. Each company or professional can request a maximum of five units for a period of six months. At the end of this period, users will have the option to purchase the bicycle they have used.
The AMB has allocated a total budget of 50,000 euros for this call. However, it is important to note that applications will be processed until this financial allocation is exhausted. Therefore, interested parties are advised to act quickly if they wish to benefit from the programme.
This is not the first time similar initiatives have been implemented in the region. In previous years, programmes related to sustainable mobility have proven effective in reducing traffic and promoting healthier habits among workers. The implementation of Biciempresa 2026 aligns with current environmental policies aimed at reducing pollutant emissions generated by motor vehicles.
Those interested can access more information and submit their application through the official AMB website. The process is straightforward and designed to facilitate participation for both large and small companies.
With this action, Begues joins other localities that have committed to fostering a cycling culture among their citizens. Additionally, encouraging the use of bicycles not only contributes to individual well-being but also to collective well-being by improving air quality in cities.
Don’t miss this opportunity: if you are part of the business community or work as a self-employed individual in Begues, consider participating before the deadline. Applications are limited and may run out quickly.
