The forecast for this Wednesday in Barcelona indicates a warm and mostly cloudy day, with a precipitation probability of only 3% and temperatures ranging from 17.9 to 26.7 degrees.

The 14th of October will see Barcelona experiencing mild temperatures and overcast skies. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a maximum of 26.7 degrees and a minimum of 17.9 degrees, with a cloud cover of 69%.

The chance of rain remains at 3%, so an umbrella will not be necessary for most outings. Those who head out early will notice a cool atmosphere, but by midday the heat will intensify on the streets.

The city is located in a continental Mediterranean climate zone, with mild winters and dry, warm summers. Rainfall is mainly concentrated in winter and the intermediate seasons, while summers are dry.

In the northernmost part of the region, a humid subtropical climate prevails, with cold or mild winters and warm, humid summers. There, precipitation is spread throughout the year, without a defined dry season.

According to Aemet, the hottest months in Barcelona are July and August, when maximum temperatures hover around 30 degrees. The lowest minimums occur between December and January, when they can drop below zero degrees.

The months with the most rainfall are September and October, precisely the period we are currently in. Snow is an unusual phenomenon: it does not exceed 10 days a year on average.

Spain is a country with many hours of sunshine, around 3,000 a year, and mild temperatures, although with notable differences between seasons and regions. Aemet distinguishes up to 13 types of climate, but four are dominant: oceanic, Mediterranean with cool summers, continental Mediterranean, and cold steppe.

The oceanic climate occurs in the north and west of Galicia, the Cantabrian region, the Iberian System, the northeast of the northern plateau, and much of the Pyrenees, except for the highest peaks. It is characterized by cool summers and abundant rainfall spread throughout the year.

The Mediterranean with cool summers occupies much of the northern plateau, the interior of Galicia, and several mountainous areas in central and southern Spain. In the Canary Islands, it extends through the interiors of islands such as La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera, and Tenerife, and in the high areas of Gran Canaria.

The continental Mediterranean, which affects Barcelona, covers much of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with mild, rainy winters and dry, hot summers. The cold steppe, with very cold winters and scarce precipitation, is located in the southeastern peninsula, the Ebro valley, the southern plateau, and some areas of Extremadura and the Balearic Islands.

For this Wednesday, a mostly cloudy day is expected but without significant rainfall. Temperatures will be typical for the season, with a pleasant afternoon in most neighbourhoods of the city.
