Two new decrees from the Consell add 20 million euros in aid due to the Adam storm, bringing the total to 43.5 million.
According to AlicanteExtra, the Consell has approved two urgent aid decrees with a combined amount of 20 million euros for individuals and businesses affected by the Adam storm. With this allocation, the total resources approved so far to repair the damages amounts to 43.5 million euros.
The spokesperson for the Consell, Miguel Barrachina, reported on the measure at the press conference following the Plenary. The new lines are aimed at commerce, industry, tourism, agriculture, and livestock, as well as those who have lost their vehicle. The goal, he stated, is to reactivate the economy and daily life in the affected areas.
Both aids have an initial allocation that may be expanded according to needs and the number of applications. The deadline for submitting them will start on 2 November 2026 and end on 1 February 2027.
The first decree, for 10 million euros, grants direct subsidies to commercial, tourist, industrial, agricultural, and livestock establishments. It covers material damages, loss of activity, difficulties in accessing premises or farms, and civil protection measures adopted.
Business owners located in the municipalities included in the regulation may apply, provided they meet the requirements and maintain their activity or commit to resuming it within a maximum of six months from the grant.
The second decree reserves another 10 million euros to compensate for vehicles declared total loss. The amounts range from 200 euros for tillers to 250 euros for mopeds, up to 15,000 euros for coaches, while cars will receive 2,000 euros.
Barrachina emphasised that losing a vehicle complicates life for many families and professionals, especially when it is necessary for commuting to work or for carrying out economic activities.
These decrees add to the first package of 23.5 million euros. That package included 6,000 euros for essential goods in primary residences, 3,000 euros for second homes, and up to 800 euros per month for a year for relocation. Additionally, it allocated 17.5 million euros for municipalities to cover cleaning costs, infrastructure repairs, and recovery of public services.
