The Consell approves an additional €3.92 million to raise the daily rate for dependent elderly people in social entity residences, with retroactive effects from January 1, 2026.
The Generalitat has approved a budget of €3.92 million to update the funding for places for dependent elderly people in residences managed by social entities within the concert system. The measure, published this Friday in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV), as reported by valenciaplaza.com, raises the amount per place per day to €84.77, which represents an increase of 2.9% compared to the previous rate.
The new price will be applied retroactively from January 1, 2026. The expenditure will be distributed over three annual payments: €1.60 million this year, €1.55 million in 2027, and €771,655 between January and June of 2028. The contributions for subsequent years will depend on the availability of sufficient credit in the regional budgets each year.
The update only affects the agreements with the social entities included in the annex of the resolution, so it does not cover all residential places funded by other means. However, the increase for other private operators participating in these agreements is also planned following the incorporation of an amendment to the budgets.
The new amounts will be applied in the billing for October, corresponding to the care provided during September. The accumulated differences between January and August will be paid later as arrears. The modification will be formalised through an addendum to each existing social concert agreement, and the payment of the 2026 update will be charged to the budget line for specialised social services for the elderly of the Conselleria de Servicios Sociales, Familia e Infancia.
The procedure to review the economic modules began on August 24. The entities expressed their agreement during the hearing process, and the increase has an economic justification report from the General Directorate of Management of the Socio-Health System.
This review comes after the Generalitat extended the agreements for concerted action for the period between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2028. This decision continued the places for dependent elderly people covered by these agreements, except in the cases of the residences San Luis, María Inmaculada, and L'Acollida. In the centres with extended agreements, the new rate will apply throughout 2026; in the three agreements without continuity, the update will cover only from January 1 to June 30 of this year.
The annex includes 32 residences with extended agreements. In the province of Alicante, centres such as Nuestra Señora de las Nieves in Aspe, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Centro Geriátrico Borja, Hospital de Callosa d'en Sarrià, Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, Fundación Casa Beneficencia, San Joaquín y Santa Ana, La Purísima, Asilo Hermanos Cholbi, Madre Elisea, La Molineta, and Fundación Asilo San Joaquín are listed.
In Castellón, the residences include Vilafranca del Cid, Virgen de la Soledad, Cáritas Interparroquial de Burriana, Hogar Madre Rosa Ojeda, Santa María Rosa Molas, and Monseñor Fernando Ferris.
In the province of Valencia, the residences include Fundación La Milagrosa, Casa de los Obreros San Vicente Ferrer, Nuestra Señora del Remedio, San Rafael, San Francisco y San Vicente, San Antonio de Benagéber, Casa de Retiro y Reposo El Salvador, San Francisco, Santa Elena de Torrent, La Milagrosa de la Fundación Santo Hospital y Casa de Enseñanza, Los Viñedos, San Blas, El Amparo, Santos Reyes, and Hogar de Ancianos Corona L'Estrela.
For families with elderly residents in these centres, the update does not imply a change in the fee they pay, as the increase is covered by the regional administration through the concert. The payment of the arrears corresponding to the first eight months of the year will be made once the addenda are formalised.
