A report from a private detective containing personal and financial data about the president of the Generalitat has reached the PSPV-PSOE, which announces it will go to the Prosecutor's Office. Sources familiar with the document point to friendly fire within the PP.
A dossier of forty pages prepared by a private detective regarding personal and financial aspects of the president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has come into the hands of the PSPV-PSOE. The socialists, facing unfavourable polls, have announced they will go to the Prosecutor's Office, as El Debate has learned. The manoeuvre shifts the mud from the dana to the realm of the judicialisation of politics.
The move is not without risk for the socialists. If, as sources consulted by this outlet familiar with the dossier suggest, the report leads to nothing, the strategy could backfire on the PSPV-PSOE. What is most striking, according to Valencians who favour a centre-right government, is that the ammunition against the president of the Generalitat seems to come from friendly fire within the PP.
Pérez Llorca assumed the presidency of the Generalitat in November of last year, after several very tough months marked by the dana, which caused 233 deaths. The change allowed the PP to turn the page and continue with the mandate that voters granted them at the polls. Pérez Llorca approved a budget for the Generalitat alongside Vox, unlike Pedro Sánchez, and has continued legislating and governing.
Now that the dana is no longer dominating the headlines, someone has deemed it appropriate, from the cowardice of anonymity, to spread mud again in the form of a dossier. Pérez Llorca himself has publicly proclaimed that he has "nothing to hide."
"Nothing to hide"
The Valencian president presented his government programme for the 2027-2031 legislature this Monday in the Valencian Courts. It remains to be seen whether his party will designate him as a candidate for re-election. If Génova 13 is clear that Pérez Llorca is their choice, they should not delay the announcement. If, on the other hand, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Miguel Tellado have doubts, they may be late in communicating to the Valencians who their lead candidate is.
Meanwhile, Vox continues to rise in the polls, also without a known candidate, while the PSPV-PSOE and Compromís rub their hands with glee at the spectacle provided by the popular party due to the actions of those who commissioned the dossier and leaked it.
