The Municipal Services survey awards a 6.5 to the management of Jaume Collboni's government, the highest score in the historical series alongside 2018. Security and access to housing remain the main issues for Barcelonians.

Barcelonians rate the management of the Barcelona City Council with a 6.5 out of 10, according to the Municipal Services survey released this Wednesday. This is the highest rating since 2018, when that score was matched, and represents a tenth more than the 6.4 recorded in 2025.

The study, which has been conducted annually since 1989, is based on 6,000 household interviews carried out between February 2 and April 30 of this year. The first deputy mayor, Laia Bonet, has highlighted the positive evolution of the indicators.

"The data shown by the municipal services survey is good data"

Bonet emphasized that the rating of municipal management "is the highest in history, tied with that of 2018" and that "since the beginning of the mandate, this rating has been progressively increasing."

In the institutional comparison, the management of the Generalitat receives a 6.3 and that of the Spanish Government a 5.7, both behind the Barcelona council.

Of the twenty-three municipal services evaluated, twelve achieve a notable score. The Bombers repeat as the highest-rated service with an 8.3, followed by public libraries (8.1), civic centres (7.7), trams (7.7), and cultural activities (7.6). Cleaning receives a 6.6 and neighbourhood security a 6.2. Only parking fails.

Eight out of ten respondents positively rate the ease of access to public transport. Furthermore, the majority believes that the City Council manages economic resources well or very well.

The main citizen demands focus on improving security (15.1%), facilitating access to housing (14.8%), and reinforcing street cleaning (10.3%). The survey also reflects a new decline of Catalan in the city.

The complete results of the study will be available on the municipal website. The next report will be prepared in 2027 with a new round of interviews.
