The Mossos d'Esquadra located the lifeless body of a man inside a submerged vehicle in the underpass of the Ronda Nord on the C-352 road on Monday. The police rule out it being Rami, the autistic minor who went missing in Granollers.
The lifeless body of a man has been found inside a car that was flooded in the tunnel of the Ronda Nord, in the municipality of Les Franqueses del Vallès. The vehicle was submerged on the C-352 road when emergency teams accessed the flooded area.
Police sources have confirmed that the death shows no signs of foul play, although the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed. Investigators are working on the hypothesis that the man may have been trapped by the sudden rise in water during the storm affecting Catalonia.
The discovery has mobilised units from the Mossos d'Esquadra, who have cordoned off the area while investigations are carried out to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Traffic at this point on the C-352 remains closed, and drivers in the area are advised to use alternative routes.
The regional police have explicitly ruled out that the body belongs to Rami, the 12-year-old boy with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who has been missing since October 4 in Granollers. The boy left his home scared by the storms and has not been seen since.
Search efforts for the boy continue on Monday with a deployment that includes Bombers de la Generalitat, Mossos d'Esquadra, Local Police, Rural Agents, Civil Protection, and around thirty volunteers. The operation is supported by helicopters, drones, canine units, and underwater specialists who are searching the flooded areas.
“There are certain areas that have been searched very thoroughly where we rule out finding Rami,” stated the head of the Northern Metropolitan Region of the Bombers de la Generalitat, Eduard Martínez.
The description provided by the authorities indicates that Rami is 1.73 meters tall, has dark skin, a stocky build, and short curly hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a turquoise t-shirt and orange sports shorts.
The Mossos insist that the minor may be disoriented and urge anyone with relevant information to contact emergency number 112 immediately. Public cooperation is considered crucial to locating him.
The storm affecting the province of Barcelona has caused various incidents on the road network in recent hours, with water accumulation in underpasses and stretches of local roads. Authorities recommend exercising extreme caution while driving and avoiding crossing flooded areas.
