Four men are detained for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a 46-year-old man in 2024. Searches were conducted in Barcelona and Sant Boi de Llobregat.
The Mossos d’Esquadra and the National Police have arrested four men aged between 26 and 52, two of whom were in Barcelona. The operation took place on 22 September with searches in Barcelona, Sant Vicenç de Montalt, and Sant Boi de Llobregat.
Investigators also point to a fifth man, who is serving a sentence for other crimes in a prison in the Community of Madrid. This new phase of the investigation has allowed the identification of other suspects based on the information gathered in the first stage.
The case began in late June 2024, when the family of a 46-year-old man reported his kidnapping in Catalunya. Following that report, agents reconstructed his movements and located the property where, according to the investigation, the murder would have taken place.
In August 2024, investigators found his lifeless body. The inquiries pointed to a criminal organization based in Barcelona and the Maresme, allegedly linked to drug trafficking and associated with the Sinaloa cartel.
The first phase concluded in November 2024 with fourteen people arrested and the dismantling of the investigated network. After reviewing the evidence from that stage, agents have identified more individuals who may have participated in the events.
The new suspects are allegedly linked to crimes of kidnapping, murder, membership in a criminal organization, drug trafficking, and money laundering. The investigation continues to focus on determining the specific involvement of each suspect.
