Another shooting in l'Hospitalet
In the early hours of last Saturday, a man was injured in the arm during a shooting that occurred in the La Florida neighbourhood of l'Hospitalet de Llobregat. This incident adds to a series of violent episodes that have shaken the city in recent weeks, generating concern among residents and local authorities.
According to sources from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the injured man was taken to Bellvitge hospital with injuries considered to be minor. The shooting took place around five in the morning and, so far, no arrests have been made in connection with this case. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has taken responsibility for the case to clarify the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
This is not an isolated incident; l'Hospitalet has experienced a notable increase in incidents related to firearms. Just this month, several shootings have been reported, including one in the Torrassa neighbourhood and another in Sant Josep, where an arrest was made. The 10.1% increase in criminal activity during 2025 has put l'Hospitalet in the spotlight of the Interior department of the Generalitat de Catalunya. In response to this critical situation, a new specific plan called Bastió is being implemented, designed to address the public safety issues affecting its residents.
As these incidents continue to occur, both neighbours and political representatives are demanding answers and effective solutions to restore peace and security in their communities.
