The Mossos d'Esquadra have found a dozen shell casings on Tarba street, in the Sant Martí district, after receiving a report of gunfire. There are no injuries or arrests.
The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a new shooting recorded in Barcelona, the third in a few hours in Catalonia and the only one of the three that has not left any victims. According to the police, there have been no arrests yet.
The events occurred on Friday, around 8:30 PM, in the Sant Martí district, near the border with Sant Adrià de Besòs. A call alerted the police that gunfire had been heard in the area, and the patrol moved to Tarba street.
Upon arrival, the officers found no one: neither the perpetrators nor any individuals injured by gunfire or for other reasons. They did find on the ground a dozen shell casings, confirming that the report was credible.
For now, it is unknown whether the shots were fired into the air, at a vehicle, or at a person. According to initial reports, the intention may have been to intimidate a family from a clan, although the Mossos have not confirmed this yet.
The events are under investigation to determine exactly what happened
For the local residents, this incident adds to the concern over the use of firearms in the same weekend. The Sant Martí case is the least serious of the three: in Badalona, a worker died after being shot in a tattoo shop, and in Salou, a pedestrian of Albanian nationality was injured with a bullet in each leg.
In none of the three cases have the perpetrators been arrested, and the Mossos are continuing their investigations to locate them and bring them to justice.
