Camp Nou prepares for a significant change
With the imminent arrival of Joan Laporta as president of FC Barcelona, the club has decided to implement a series of temporary measures that will affect members and fans attending Spotify Camp Nou. Although many were expecting discounts on tickets as part of Laporta's electoral promise, these will not take effect until the new board officially takes office on July 1.
Supporters who voted for Laporta in the hope of receiving immediate benefits will have to wait several months. The current provisional board, led by Rafa Yuste, has chosen to postpone the “additional and exclusive discounts” until next season. This decision has caused some concern among members, who expected to see the electoral promises reflected in their experience as fans.
In addition to the postponement of discounts, the club has announced significant changes to the stadium attendance protocols. Starting from the next match against Atlético de Madrid, scheduled for April 8 and corresponding to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the deadline to confirm attendance will be brought forward. It will now be necessary to do so 48 hours in advance, aiming to reinforce security measures and optimise the spectator experience.
Transfers or changes in the name of the ticket holder must be made at least 24 hours before the match, or the club does not guarantee the allocation of the corresponding seat. These new rules are designed to prevent fraud and protect the rights of both members and fans.
Subscribers will also need to confirm their attendance on a match-by-match basis through the club's app or website up to six days before the event. If they do not, they will be denied access to the stadium. This approach aims to ensure that all attendees are properly registered and identified.
Regarding general ticket sales, it is imperative to register the buyer's name at least 24 hours before the match starts. The club emphasises that this measure is crucial for maintaining high standards in terms of security and control within the sports venue.
