An anticipated return
The Andalusian midfielder Fermín López has returned to training at the Ciutat Esportiva, after suffering a concerning incident during the last Champions match against Atlético de Madrid. Fermín, who is only 22 years old, appeared at the session with a mask protecting his face, the result of an accidental kick from goalkeeper Musso.
The unfortunate episode occurred last Wednesday when Fermín received a strong blow to the face that caused heavy bleeding from his nose and mouth. Despite the intense pain, the young footballer continued playing until he was substituted by Hansi Flick in the second half of the match. After the game, FC Barcelona's medical staff had to attend to him urgently in the locker room, where they stitched up the wound.
Fortunately, Fermín has overcome the worst and is available to participate in the upcoming league match against Celta this Wednesday. His return is crucial for the team, as his skill and creativity are fundamental to Barça's attack.
However, not all news is good for the culés. Defender Marc Bernal, who also recently injured himself due to an ankle sprain during another encounter against Atlético de Madrid, has not yet rejoined the group. Additionally, other players like Raphinha and Christensen, who are dealing with their own injuries, also did not participate in this training session.
Despite the notable absences, some young talents from the reserve team joined the practice. The youth players Nico Marcipar, Onstein, and Adrià Muñoz showed their willingness and energy by integrating with the more experienced players. Such opportunities are vital for their development and could be key to strengthening the team in future competitions.
