The Generalitat allocates €500 monthly to those under 30 preparing for exams, valid until 31 December 2027. The aim is to facilitate generational change in public services.
The Government of Catalonia has launched a grant scheme of €500 per month for qualified young people to prepare for exams for the regional administration. The call, which will extend until 31 December 2027, aims to anticipate the wave of retirements expected in public services, as reported by ara.cat.
The programme is designed for those under 30 years old who wish to apply for a public position and need financial support during the selection process. The aid will be paid until the last test of the exam phase and will be subject to the corresponding income tax withholding.
One of the objectives is to eliminate the socioeconomic barriers that prevent some candidates from fully dedicating themselves to study. The initiative also aims to ensure that selection processes are conducted on equal terms and allow for the assessment of all candidates' abilities.
The requirements to access the aid include not having received similar grants from the Generalitat in the previous three years, not receiving equivalent scholarships from other administrations or private entities, and not working more than 30 hours per week for oneself or others.
Additionally, applicants must be up to date with tax obligations to the State and the Generalitat and with Social Security, and must not fall under the prohibitions of Article 13 of Law 38/2003 on General Grants. Compliance with the requirements of the last call for the body or scale being applied for is also required.
The maximum annual income threshold per family unit member has been set at €19,000. Applications must be submitted electronically through Trámites gencat.
The call is aimed at the selection processes for the bodies of the general administration, which must renew their staff with young profiles and digital and innovative skills. With this measure, the Generalitat aims to facilitate generational change and maintain the quality of public services.
