Barcelona City Council begins work on the reurbanisation of Pere Llobet Street in the Coll neighbourhood (Gràcia) this Monday. The intervention will last five months and will remove part of the parking to widen sidewalks and renew services.

The transformation works on Pere Llobet Street in the Coll neighbourhood start this Monday, October 5, as reported by the Barcelona City Council. The work will focus on the section between Portell Street and Laguna de Lanao Square and is expected to take five months.

The project aims to gain space for pedestrians and improve accessibility in this part of the Gràcia district. To achieve this, part of the existing parking line will be removed, allowing for wider sidewalks and more space for pedestrian movement.

Beyond the superficial reurbanisation, the council will take advantage of the work to renew the sewer network and the street lighting system. It is also planned to bury the telephone wiring and introduce new vegetation and urban furniture.

The reform of Pere Llobet is one of the five planned transformation actions in the Gràcia district during this municipal term. The intervention is part of the Pla Endreça, the municipal programme that promotes the improvement of public space throughout the city.

With these works, residents of Coll will see a reduction in surface parking spaces, but will gain wider sidewalks and a more accessible environment. The forecast is that the work will be completed around March 2027, if the announced deadlines are met.
