The storm that has battered Catalonia in recent days is approaching its final phase. Roberto Brasero marks Thursday as the last day of heavy rain and wind on the Catalan coast before a sunny Pilar Bridge.

The storm that has hit Catalonia in recent days is beginning to subside, but there are still hours of instability ahead. According to meteorologist Roberto Brasero, the Catalan community and Balearic Islands will be the only two areas in Spain that will continue to experience heavy rain and intense wind along the coast until Thursday, as reported by Vozpópuli.

The widespread stormy weather has already ended in most of the country. In the Cantabrian region, grey skies will persist, although the rain will weaken throughout the day. In Melilla and Canary Islands, some showers may occur due to a depression that could also affect Ceuta on Friday.

"Strong winds with a maritime storm will affect areas of Catalonia and the Balearic archipelago. In the rest of Spain, sunshine will prevail, although in Melilla and the Canary Islands we may have some showers, resulting from a depression that could also impact Ceuta on Friday. But overall, the rains are decreasing and temperatures are too," Brasero explained from Antena 3.

The drop in temperatures will be particularly noticeable in the coming mornings. Aragon will register minimums up to 7 degrees lower than those of this Wednesday, and the cierzo wind will blow. In the rest of the Peninsula, it will also be cooler in the mornings, although in the south, temperatures will recover in the afternoon and will reach or exceed 30 degrees in Córdoba and Seville.

The change in trend will arrive over the weekend. Temperatures will rise compared to previous days, and the rains and storms will be left behind, meaning that the Pilar Bridge will be characterised by stability and predominance of sunshine across most of the territory.

For residents of the province of Catalonia, the forecast indicates that persistent precipitation and wind along the coast will continue until Thursday, so it is advisable to take extra precautions during travel and outdoor activities in the coming hours. From Friday onwards, the situation will tend to normalise, and the long weekend can be enjoyed without umbrellas.
