The torrential rains this Saturday have kept seven regions on red alert. A woman is missing after falling into a stream in Cabrera de Mar, while part of the Rodalies service is suspended.

According to Crónica Global, the heavy rains this Saturday along the Catalan coast and pre-coast have kept seven regions on red alert. The incident has already left one person missing in Cabrera de Mar (Barcelona).

Residents of Barcelonès, Maresme, Vallès Oriental, Vallès Occidental, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, La Selva, and Granollers received a message from Es Alert on their mobiles. The alert warned of torrential rainfall from the afternoon until two in the morning.

The GI-552 road is closed in Riells i Viabrea (Girona) over a stretch of one and a half kilometres. Water accumulations have formed on the C-17, although the road remains open.

Meanwhile, Rodalies de Cataluña has suspended the service on the R2 Sud and Regional Sud lines from 10:00 PM to avoid incidents in Baix Llobregat and Garraf. The R1 is running on a single track between Vilassar de Mar and Mataró, with delays of over 15 minutes due to an incident at the underground crossing in Vilassar de Mar.

In Cabrera de Mar, firefighters have deployed six teams to search for a woman who fell into a stream. The alert was received at 7:41 PM and the search is being conducted alongside the Mossos d'Esquadra and Maritime Rescue.

Firefighters also rescued two elderly people trapped by water inside their car in Sentmenat (Barcelona). On the A2 motorway, in Abrera and Martorell, they assisted drivers in distress.

In Sant Esteve Sesrovires, a flooded house was evacuated with an elderly person and a pregnant woman inside.

Meteocat has issued a new warning for severe weather until early evening in Vallès Oriental, Vallès Occidental, Maresme, and Barcelonès. It predicts hail of more than two centimetres and wind gusts exceeding 90 kilometres per hour.

The rains have been very heavy in some areas. In Cabrils, 64.2 litres per square metre were recorded in half an hour, and in Fornells de la Selva, 27 litres in the same time. In La Bisbal del Penedès, 36.8 millimetres were measured in ten minutes.

According to Civil Protection, the episode will last until Sunday morning, with the Inuncat plan in alert phase. Meteocat maintains forecasts of heavy showers and locally torrential rain in the central coast and pre-coast, from La Selva to Tarragonès, and does not rule out storms. Before leaving home, it is advisable to check the status of Rodalies and the alerts from Meteocat.
