The Department of Education announces 69 grants from the GenT2 plan with funding of 24,326,583 euros between 2027 and 2031. Applications can be submitted until October 27 for three modalities and from November 2 to 27 for the other two.

The Department of Education, Culture and Universities has launched a new call for grants for researchers. In total, there will be 69 scholarships distributed within the GenT2 plan, with an estimated investment of 24,326,583 euros to be executed between 2027 and 2031. The aim is for scientists to develop their careers in the Comunitat Valenciana and for the results of their projects to benefit the productive fabric and the regional administration, as reported by the Generalitat through noveldadigital.es.

The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV), is organised into five modalities that cover different stages of the research career. The intention is for those who generate knowledge to find here the conditions to promote ambitious projects and connect them with universities, research centres, companies, and public administrations.

The DEGENT line includes 20 grants for the hiring and stabilisation of excellent doctoral research staff. These contracts allow for the development of R&D+i projects and can incorporate additional funding of up to 100,000 euros per year for project execution, depending on the submitted budget and the evaluation results. The maximum initial duration is four years.

Meanwhile, EIGENT offers nine grants to incorporate and stabilise doctors with international experience. In this case, the complementary funding for their projects reaches 30,000 euros per year. Like the previous line, the maximum initial duration is four years.

To strengthen the scientific excellence of junior research staff, the JIGENT line announces 20 grants with a maximum amount of 80,000 euros per year per project and a duration of up to four years. The purpose is for researchers in earlier stages to consolidate their own lines of work.

The call also reinforces collaboration with the productive fabric and the public sector. INGENT offers ten grants to carry out industrial doctoral theses of excellence alongside Valencian companies and public administrations. These contracts last four years: the Generalitat fully finances the first three, and the collaborating entity assumes the last one.

Finally, EMGENT announces another ten grants to incorporate excellent doctoral research staff into knowledge transfer projects. They are structured through an agreement between the research centre and the company or public administration, with contracts of a maximum duration of three years.

Application deadlines vary by modality. For DEGENT, EIGENT, and JIGENT, applications can be submitted until October 27. For INGENT and EMGENT, the deadline will remain open from November 2 to 27. Applications must be submitted by the corresponding entities according to the requirements of each modality, and the grants will be awarded on a competitive basis.
