An international fugitive in the clutches of the law
In an operation that has surprised many, the Mossos d’Esquadra have managed to arrest in Barcelona a 33-year-old man linked to the feared Camorra, who was wanted by Italian authorities for his involvement in a homicide that occurred in Naples in 2018. This arrest took place on May 27, when undercover agents from the L’Eixample district identified the suspect after he presented documentation that turned out to be false.
The detainee is identified as the material author of the murder of a member of a rival clan, a violent act that took place in broad daylight. According to reports from Italy, this crime was part of a series of criminal activities orchestrated by a mafia organization linked to the Neapolitan Camorra.
Once the falsity of the document presented by the fugitive was verified, the Mossos proceeded to arrest him on charges of document forgery.
