A tribute to culture and community
The Festes de Primavera in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat are preparing for an edition full of surprises and activities from April 23 to 26. This year, the director and screenwriter Marcel Barrena, known for his work El 47, will be in charge of kicking off the festivities as the herald. Barrena, who spent part of his childhood in this Catalan city, has expressed his excitement about returning to his roots and sharing this moment with the community.
The celebration will officially begin on April 23, coinciding with the Diada de Sant Jordi. The Remunta park will become a hub for music lovers, featuring emerging artists such as Ginebras, Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, and Natalia Lacunza. Additionally, Los Rebeldes will close the festivities with a concert that promises to be unforgettable.
In another corner of the event, the gardens of Can Sumarru will host a cycle dedicated to jazz and soul titled Primavera in Black, where bands like Anna Bananahanack Band and BB & The Blues Shacks will perform. Meanwhile, the Baldosa square in Bellvitge will offer tributes to great artists like Tina Turner and Queen.
There will be more than just music; the Festes will also celebrate Catalan popular culture with traditional activities such as gegants, correfocs, sardanas, and castells. Attendees will also be able to enjoy a gastronomic route called Primavera de Tapes, offering a delicious variety for all palates.
The craft beer fair in Lluís Companys square will be another highlighted attraction of the event. This space will not only allow tasting local beers but also enjoying the festive atmosphere that characterizes l’Hospitalet.
Considering the diversity of the attending audience, inclusive activities have been scheduled. The Sala Salamandra will organize parties aimed at both young people and those with functional diversity. Additionally, humorous monologues will be presented in different spaces by recognized local artists.
Closing the cultural cycle, the Torrassa park will host performances that fuse circus and dance thanks to the group Òpal’ha. This artistic blend promises to be one of the festival's highlights.
