Laia Rius, the artist from Igualada, presents her debut album 'Cada casa, cada vida' this Friday at 20:00 at the Centre Cultural Albareda in Barcelona, with free entry and prior reservation.
The Centre Cultural Albareda in Barcelona will host the presentation concert of Nastallat this Friday at 20:00 hours, the project of traditional Catalan music that Laia Rius, born in Igualada, has brought into the realm of contemporary electronics. The debut album, titled 'Cada casa, cada vida', reinterprets pieces from the 'ball de bot' while maintaining their structure and rhythm so they remain danceable in the traditional style, but transforming their harmonization and sound.
The artistic name Nastallat comes from a family nickname of Rius herself, who directs the project. The proposal focuses on the music of the Balearic Islands, with special attention to jotas, boleras, and fandangos, and seeks to link Catalan roots with the transformation brought about by the passage of time.
The performance is part of the 'Insòlits' cycle, a program that brings unusual musical proposals to the city's local venues. The concert will take place at the Centre Cultural Albareda, a space managed by the Barcelona City Council in the Poble-sec neighbourhood, within the Sants-Montjuïc district.
Entry is free but requires prior reservation, and seating is limited. Reservations can be made online at albareda.inscripcionscc.com, in person, or by phone at 934 433 719. Up to two tickets per person can be reserved starting from 10:00 hours on the Monday of the week of the event.
Doors will open 30 minutes before the start. Reservations will be held until 10 minutes before the concert begins, at which point unoccupied seats will be released if there are capacity issues. For local residents, it is an opportunity to hear live a project that has undergone an electronic filter without giving up the traditional dance rhythm.
