The Creu Coberta commercial axis will host the twentieth edition of the medieval fair on October 3 and 4, featuring over a hundred establishments, artisans, and entities. The event takes place during the Fiesta Mayor of Hostafrancs and is free of charge.
The Medieval Fair of Creu Coberta celebrates its twentieth edition in 2026 with two open days in the Hostafrancs neighbourhood of Barcelona. The event coincides with the neighbourhood's Fiesta Mayor and transforms the commercial axis into a period setting during the weekend of October 3 and 4.
The market occupies the streets of Creu Coberta, Consell de Cent, Diputació, Torre d'en Damians, and Béjar, with continuous hours from 10:00 to 20:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free and does not require prior registration.
More than a hundred establishments, artisan stalls, and entities participate in an exhibition that combines local commerce and historical dissemination. The route includes traditional crafts, artisan products, and gastronomic proposals.
The programme includes family activities, music, dance, theatrical performances, and dancing for all audiences. Neighbours and visitors can encounter merchants, artisans, knights, musicians, and fantastical characters, as detailed by the organisers.
“The Medieval Fair has established itself as one of the most emblematic events in the neighbourhood, attracting thousands of people who enjoy a unique experience in the heart of Barcelona each year,” the organisation points out.
The fair has been held for two decades as part of the Fiesta Mayor of Hostafrancs and maintains its aim of recalling the history of the neighbourhood and the city. Street entertainment and demonstrations of ancient crafts are two of the usual attractions of the exhibition.
For local commerce, the event represents one of the busiest weekends of the year. The establishments along the Creu Coberta axis take advantage of the fair to showcase their activities and attract visitors from other parts of Barcelona.
Anyone wishing to attend can do so during the two days, without entry or reservation, and combine their visit with the other events of the Fiesta Mayor of Hostafrancs scheduled for the same weekend.
