A bridge between experience and innovation
In an effort to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Lleida, an innovative initiative has been launched that connects young entrepreneurs with volunteer seniors of vast business experience. This program, the result of a recently signed agreement between the Lleida Chamber of Commerce and Secot Catalunya, aims to provide advice and mentoring to those taking their first steps in the business world.
The agreement was formalised last Wednesday by Jaume Saltó, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Josep Maria Faura, president of Secot Catalunya. During the event, Saltó emphasised the importance of support in the early stages of entrepreneurship, where many feel alone in the face of the challenges they encounter.
Secot is a non-profit association made up of retired professionals who have decided to share their knowledge with new generations. These seniors not only bring their experience in business management but also a practical vision of how to carry out viable projects. The organisation is particularly focused on helping freelancers and small businesses, critical areas for local economic development.
Through the agreement, the Chamber of Commerce commits to providing spaces where entrepreneurs can interact with their mentors. This collaboration promises to be a catalyst for many innovative ideas seeking to materialise in the Lleida market.
Various prominent members of Secot Lleida have expressed their enthusiasm for participating in this initiative. Among them are figures such as Julián Corrià, former executive of Frilesa; Maite Graupera, former international director of Banc Sabadell; and Antonio Condal, who has held significant positions in the Guissona Food Corporation. They all agree that this type of mentoring is essential to guide new entrepreneurs towards success.
As more entrepreneurs join the program, it is expected that successful stories will emerge to inspire others to follow in their footsteps. The combination of the accumulated knowledge of these seniors with the fresh and dynamic ideas of the young can result in a significant impact not only for the direct participants but also for the entire local economic community.
