Police operation reveals a significant find in Martorell
In a coordinated action by the investigation unit of the Mossos d’Esquadra, a marijuana distribution operation has been dismantled in Martorell, where a 33-year-old man was arrested after being caught with 12 kilos of the substance in his vehicle. The incident took place on March 31, when officers were conducting a routine patrol and noticed a car driving erratically.
The Mossos decided to follow the vehicle, which was heading to a local residence. Upon arrival, the driver exited the property carrying two large bags that he quickly placed in the boot. This suspicious behaviour led the officers to intervene and search the vehicle, where they found 20 packages of marijuana buds carefully vacuum-sealed.
Not satisfied with the initial find, investigators continued their work the following day and located the arrested man's apartment in Sant Pol de Mar. There, they discovered an additional two kilos of marijuana along with two vacuum sealing machines and various tools used for the distribution and shipment of the narcotic. This discovery suggests that the arrested individual may have been operating a broader network.
Despite having no prior criminal record, the arrest has raised the possibility that this individual was involved in more complex illicit activities. The significant amount of drugs found both in his car and at his residence indicates that he was prepared to supply a considerable market.
The arrested man was brought before the relevant examining court, where he will face charges for crimes against public health. Authorities have emphasized the importance of the preventive work carried out by the Mossos d’Esquadra to combat the illegal trafficking and distribution of drugs in the region.
