The city of Barcelona has kicked off its summer vacation campaign, providing more than 359,000 spots for children and teens. The initiative aims to ensure all families can access diverse activities during the break.

Barcelona’s municipal government has officially launched its summer vacation campaign, T’estiu molt, which will run from June 20 to September 7. This year, the program offers an impressive 359,458 places for children and adolescents aged 1 to 17, allowing them to choose from over a thousand planned activities.

Diverse range of activities available

The summer program includes a wide variety of leisure options designed to cater to different interests. Activities range from sports camps at the Campus Olímpia to cultural workshops and family-oriented events. Young participants can engage in everything from traditional summer camps and sports routes to artistic workshops and educational programs.

Financial support for vulnerable families

To promote inclusivity, the city council is allocating 5.1 million euros in financial aid aimed at supporting families facing economic challenges. This initiative seeks to eliminate financial barriers that might prevent children from participating in these enriching experiences.

Increased participation through expanded partnerships

This year marks a significant increase in collaboration with local organizations, as the number of approved entities has risen to 290. These organizations are responsible for delivering a total of 1,097 activities, ensuring a broad spectrum of choices that maintain high standards of quality and safety.

A focus on equity in programming

The city is also introducing changes aimed at enhancing equity within its offerings. Starting this year, activities tailored for children with special needs will be integrated into the standard summer program. The city plans to invest an additional 1.9 million euros, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity by covering any extra costs associated with these specialized programs.

Youth engagement through Adoles100!

An exciting addition this year is the Adoles100! initiative running from June 29 to July 17, which offers free recreational activities specifically designed for youth aged 12 to 18. This program includes sports tournaments, creative workshops like cooking and theater arts, as well as community-building events such as book clubs and exchange markets.

The aim is not only entertainment but also fostering social connections among young people while promoting values such as respect and community involvement.

A legacy of support for youth development

This comprehensive approach reflects Barcelona’s long-standing commitment to youth development through accessible programming. Historical efforts have shown that cities investing in their younger populations see long-term benefits in community cohesion and individual growth.

The full schedule of activities is available on the city’s official website, where families can find detailed information about registration processes and specific offerings tailored for their children’s interests.
