The Generalitat has lost the first appeal it filed against a Mossos d'Esquadra officer who claimed night shift pay during his holidays. The first section of the contentious-administrative chamber of the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal in a ruling dated 7 October.
The high court thus endorses the ruling issued in June 2025 by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia. According to the Supreme Court, the remuneration for services rendered, such as the night shift pay, is a supplement and not a bonus:
«it does not have the character of a bonus but of a supplement»
