A fateful day at work
The town of Ulldecona, in the province of Tarragona, has been shaken by a workplace tragedy that has left the community in shock. This Monday, around 10:25 am, a 61-year-old worker performing maintenance on roads suffered a serious accident when he fell down a slope while driving a tipper truck.
According to reports provided by the Mossos d’Esquadra, the man was carrying out routine tasks when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle and fell. Despite the rapid response from emergency services, which included three police patrols and four units from the Bombers de la Generalitat, nothing could be done to save his life.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene of the incident along with personnel from the Medical Emergency System, including a helicopter. However, despite their efforts, the worker was declared dead at the scene. This tragic event has led authorities to open an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have reported that they have informed the relevant investigating court and the Department of Business and Labour. This measure is part of the usual protocol in the event of fatal workplace incidents, aimed at clarifying responsibilities and preventing similar accidents in the future.
