A new residential project for the Messi family
The football star, Leo Messi, has decided to take a significant step towards his family's future by planning the construction of three houses in one of the most exclusive areas of Castelldefels. This ambitious plan, which involves his three children as promoters, aims to establish a family legacy in the Bellamar neighbourhood, known for housing several sports figures.
The Castelldefels City Council has greenlit this urbanisation project, which includes the transformation of an existing plot of approximately 8,000 square metres. The initiative has an estimated budget exceeding 600,000 euros, and the works are expected to be carried out under the supervision of the architectural team led by Jordi Grané.
The new homes will be located on plots that will be enabled after dividing the original plot. Although specific timelines for the start and completion of the works have yet to be defined, these urbanisations must be completed before the occupation of the new homes can be authorised.
In addition to the residential development, the project includes significant improvements to local infrastructure. Water, electricity, and telecommunications systems will be updated to facilitate access to the new homes. A naturalised green area with native species such as olive and almond trees will also be created, although without urban furniture, preserving the natural character of the surroundings.
Despite his recent move to Inter Miami, Messi has maintained his residence in Castelldefels since 2009. In recent interviews, he has expressed a strong desire to return to live in Barcelona with his family. The current house boasts luxuries such as a private football pitch and various recreational facilities.
Not only is he building a home; Messi has also recently made waves by becoming the owner of the Catalan club UE Cornellà, reflecting his ongoing commitment to Spanish football. This move could open new opportunities for both him and his children within the sports world.
