Significant train delays have marred the Diada celebrations in Catalonia as a result of a copper cable theft impacting the Rodalies service. The disruption, which affects trains on lines R13 and R14 between Lleida and Sant Vicenç de Calders, has left many commuters frustrated during one of the region’s most important public holidays.
According to Adif, the national railway infrastructure manager, teams are currently engaged in efforts to replace the stolen materials as quickly as possible. In addition to the disruptions between Lleida Pirineus and Puigverd de Lleida-Artesa, there is also a potential delay affecting line R2 Sud due to another reported theft of signaling cables between França station and Glòries-Clot junction.
