Of the total fines issued, 20 were processed in collaboration with the Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police force. This partnership allowed for enhanced surveillance and a more robust response to incidents of incivility.
The most common reasons for these fines included disturbances to public order, which accounted for 58 violations. Additionally, 32 fines were related to alcohol consumption in public spaces, while 31 complaints stemmed from noise disturbances affecting residents’ peace. Other notable infractions included littering and improper disposal of bulky waste.
The joint operations with Mossos d’Esquadra revealed similar trends; they recorded 11 complaints regarding noise disturbances and 10 related to improper waste disposal. These statistics underscore a persistent challenge faced by local authorities during peak tourist seasons.
