The Generalitat organizes a 512 square meter stand in pavilion 3 of IFEMA for 39 horticultural firms and two quality labels, the IGP Cítricos Valencianos and the DOP Carxofa de Benicarló.

A total of 39 horticultural companies from the Comunitat Valenciana will share space at Fruit Attraction 2026, the international fair for the sector that will take place from 6 to 8 October at IFEMA, in Madrid. The Department of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries has organized a grouped participation of 512 square meters in pavilion 3, as reported by agronewscomunitatvalenciana.com.

The stand is divided into four sections. One of them is reserved for common areas so that Valencian firms can hold business meetings with potential clients during the three days of the event.

The exhibition offer includes citrus fruits, persimmons, grapes, cherries, pomegranates, tomatoes, onions, and garlic, among other products. Alongside producers, cooperatives, and distributors, entities such as Asoproa, the Association of Avocado Producers of the Comunitat Valenciana, and quality labels like the IGP Cítricos Valencianos and the DOP Carxofa de Benicarló will be present.

The Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, plans to visit the fair on Tuesday, 6 October to support the Valencian companies and endorse the horticultural production of the Comunitat.

"The Comunitat Valenciana is a horticultural powerhouse"

Barrachina has argued that international markets should recognize and value the productive capacity of Valencia, and he has reiterated the Consell's commitment to support the sector, facilitate business opportunities, and contribute to the growth of agri-food exports.

The Valencian presence is not limited to the exhibition space. Companies and entities from the Comunitat will participate in talks and activities on the new challenges in the sector, optimizing harvest decisions, and applying digital technological solutions.

The I International Potato Symposium, which will take place on 5 October, will bring together producers, companies, researchers, and institutions to analyze the challenges and opportunities of this crop.

Fruit Attraction is expected to gather around 2,500 companies in 80,000 square meters spread across 10 pavilions, with more than 121,000 professionals from 152 countries. The offer is structured in the areas of Fresh Produce, Auxiliary Industry, Fresh Food Logistics, and Innova&Tech.

This year, the Department has allocated 2.8 million euros to support the presence of Valencian agri-food companies at national and international fairs. After Fruit Attraction, the calendar will continue this month with SIAL Paris and, in February, with Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Biofach in Nuremberg, and Wine Paris, an event in which the Comunitat Valenciana will participate for the first time.

Additionally, registration periods will soon open for the grouped participations of the Generalitat at Salón Gourmets (Madrid) and Anuga (Cologne).
