The Valencian Government will approve a new package of aid for those affected by the Adam storm this Friday. This adds to the €23.5 million already mobilised.

According to alicantepress.com, the Valencian Government will approve a new package of aid aimed at those affected by the Adam storm this Friday. The measures will include subsidies for farmers, ranchers, and merchants, as well as compensation for vehicles lost in the floods.

The announcement was made by the president of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, during a visit to Els Poblets, Oliva, and Sanet i Negrals. There, he supervised the cleaning and repair of public facilities damaged by the storm in the Marina Alta and Safor.

The new measures add to the €23.5 million that are already mobilised. The first package includes up to €6,000 per household to replace essential items and goods, as well as rental assistance for those who have had to leave their homes.

The funding line for urgent expenses, endowed with €17.5 million, also increases the number of municipalities. It offers up to €200,000 per council and was initially aimed at 27 municipalities.

Now, nine more localities are included: L'Alqueria de la Comtessa, Almiserà, Ròtova, Ador, Rafelcofer, Beniarjó, Benirredrà, Guardamar de la Safor, and Tavernes de la Valldigna. With these, the programme reaches 36 municipalities affected.

Meanwhile, the Generalitat has deployed a recovery operation with 800 personnel and heavy machinery. Their tasks include removing debris, cleaning streets and public spaces, restoring access, and repairing infrastructure, as well as setting up collection points and temporary waste storage.

In Els Poblets, Pérez Llorca toured several areas of the urban centre where cleaning operations are ongoing and visited the auxiliary health centre, which is being worked on to return to its usual use. In Oliva, the Generalitat is intervening at the IES Gabriel Ciscar to repair water damage.

The visit concluded at the wastewater treatment plant in Sanet i Negrals, where the Public Entity for Wastewater Treatment (EPSAR) is working on recovering the plant, as well as other treatment facilities affected by the storm.

The president also focused on the maintenance of rivers and ravines. According to him, the accumulation of invasive vegetation, especially reeds, has obstructed some waterways and contributed to flooding during the rains. He advocated coordinating various administrations in an investment plan to improve the cleaning and conservation of waterways.

The Generalitat will continue working with the municipalities of Marina Alta and Safor on the recovery of infrastructure and public services. The new package of aid, which will extend coverage to productive sectors and affected vehicle owners, will be approved this Friday.
