The Nou Barris district once again hosts the San Froilán festival, which from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4 will fill the District Headquarters courtyard and the Major square with Galician gastronomy and tradition. The event, with over three decades of history, will kick off on Friday at 19:30.
The San Froilán festival returns to Nou Barris with three days of activities starting on Friday, October 2 at 19:30 in the courtyard of the District Headquarters and the Major square of Nou Barris. The programme includes musical performances, children's games, vermouths, and religious events, all with Galician culture as the common thread.
The opening will be given by Radio TeleTaxi at 19:30. At 21:30, the Galician flag will be raised, and then the orchestra La Oca Band will liven up the first dance. This will be the first of three days that will turn the district into a small corner of Galicia over the weekend.
On Saturday, October 3, activities will begin in the morning with children's games, various performances, and a vermouth. In the afternoon, the Roquetes - Nou Barris Symphony Band, conducted by Daniel Navarro, will give a concert. Following this, popular culture entities will present the festival officially on behalf of the authorities. The day will conclude with music from the orchestras Novo Tango and La Oca Band.
On Sunday, October 4, at 12:00, a mass will be held in honour of San Froilán, followed by the traditional procession. At noon, there will be another vermouth, and in the afternoon, the Galician entities of Xuntanza de Catalunya will perform. The closing will be by the orchestra Novo Tango.
