The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 14-year-old girl at 1 a.m. on Monday for having published death threats against students of the Institut Escola Londres, an educational centre located in the Barcelona district of Eixample. Police sources have confirmed the arrest, which occurred after several parents of the school alerted the Catalan police and provided information to identify the author of the messages.
The posts, made on Instagram on an open profile, appeared on Sunday. In one of the texts, the young girl wrote: "My plan is to arrive at school in the morning, wait for the ESO break time, 'stab random people'."

In other posts, the minor also referred to the younger students at the centre: "I think the little kids are the only ones I wouldn't kill," she wrote on the school's Instagram page. Additionally, her profile featured phrases like "The fifth-grade students of 2023 are all dead" and an image displaying a large knife.
According to police sources, the arrested girl has mental health issues and was a student at the Institut Escola Londres, although she currently attends a special education centre in the upper area of Barcelona. She is expected to testify on Monday before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
The educational centre has declined to comment on the incident. Classes at the Institut Escola Londres are continuing normally on Monday, according to sources from the school. So far, there has been no information about the activation of any additional security protocols at the centre.
The case became known after parents alerted the Mossos upon detecting the threats on social media. The investigation remains open, and the minor is in the custody of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
