The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a minor allegedly linked to Blocus for his possible role in spreading the protests in Barcelona. He is under investigation for public disorder and gang affiliation.
A 17-year-old has been arrested in Vallès Occidental for his alleged involvement in promoting the Blocus mobilisations. Investigators attribute an active role to him in coordinating the calls that ended in disturbances in Barcelona.
According to the Catalan police, the investigation identified a TikTok profile and several instant messaging groups that were used to spread the protest on October 24. The detainee is said to have shared content and encouraged other users to join the mobilisation.
The activities attributed to the detainee were not limited to that day. Officers claim he also promoted new gatherings in the Catalan capital, including one called for October 31, a week after the incidents that led to the investigation.
The minor is provisionally charged with public disorder and gang affiliation. The Mossos place his possible role within the dissemination structure of Blocus, particularly through digital platforms.
The proceedings have already been sent to the Barcelona Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, which will decide on the appropriate actions. The Mossos are keeping the investigation open and do not rule out further arrests as they continue to analyse the messaging channels and social networks linked to the calls.
