A 17-year-old detained in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia will enter a closed regime in a youth detention centre. The youth section of Barcelona agreed to the detention due to his alleged connection with Blocus.
According to Crónica Global, a 17-year-old detained on the night of Thursday in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia will enter a closed regime in a youth detention centre for his alleged ties to the digital group Blocus. The measure affects a resident of the Alt Penedès region, in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
The High Court of Justice of Catalonia confirmed that the youth section of Barcelona has agreed to the detention after carrying out various proceedings. The decision is based on the alleged participation of the young man in organising the disturbances recorded in the Catalan capital last week.
The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested him in Sant Sadurní. He is accused of having shared the access link to the group and having actively participated in digital conversations, providing guidance on the materials to bring and self-protection guidelines for the disturbances on Saturday, October 24.
Furthermore, according to the investigation, he allegedly encouraged other participants to join the violent actions and suggested possible targets for looting. All of these are alleged facts that are being examined in the case, and the young man has not yet been tried.
This is the second arrest in Catalonia for the organisation of the vandalistic acts attributed to Blocus, following a previous arrest in the province. For the residents of Sant Sadurní, this case means that a boy from their municipality is subject to a judicial measure of detention while the investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra progresses.
