Mossos have arrested a 21-year-old man in Cabrera d'Anoia, identified as an administrator of a group coordinating Blocus participants. The investigation is ongoing.
A 21-year-old man was arrested this Saturday afternoon in Cabrera d'Anoia. He is the fourth person investigated for the disturbances that occurred last Saturday in central Barcelona, and the police identify him as an instigator of the group Blocus.
According to the statement from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the arrested individual was allegedly the administrator of one of the communication groups created to coordinate participants. Officers have confirmed that access to this group was disseminated via a poster on TikTok with a QR code linking to a WhatsApp channel.
In their statement, the police describe the young man's behaviour as follows:
“he would have had an active role in energising the group”
According to the same note, the arrested individual was present in Barcelona during the disturbances the previous weekend. The investigation is ongoing, and according to the Mossos, further arrests are not ruled out.
For those moving through the city centre, the police presence has already been noticeable this afternoon. The Mossos have deployed a preventive operation in plaza Catalunya and its surroundings ahead of a new Blocus call, and have identified groups of individuals who, according to the police, may be carrying objects.
