Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a minor in Vallès Occidental for their alleged involvement in spreading Blocus calls. With this arrest, there have been ten arrests made in Catalonia.

The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a minor in the Vallès Occidental region accused of spreading and coordinating calls from the Blocus movement, linked to the serious disturbances that occurred in Barcelona on 24 October. With this arrest, ten people have been arrested in Catalonia for their alleged connection to this network.

The investigation has focused on the detained individual's activity on social media and instant messaging applications. According to the Catalan police, the minor is believed to have played an active role in several channels used to promote the mobilisations and organise participation in the calls.

The agents identified the young person after locating a TikTok profile and several messaging groups that were used to spread the call for 24 October. Investigators believe that this profile was disseminating content related to the protests and amplifying the calls.

According to the Mossos d'Esquadra, the same profile is believed to have promoted new calls in Barcelona, including one scheduled for 31 October. On that occasion, the police operation managed to prevent the disturbances from being repeated as in previous days.

The disturbances on 24 October necessitated a significant police intervention in the city centre. There were arrests, material damage, and episodes of vandalism and looting that affected several commercial establishments.

Following the arrest, the proceedings have been forwarded to the Barcelona Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, which will need to analyse the facts and decide on the appropriate actions. The Catalan police are continuing the investigation and do not rule out further arrests as the analysis of the profiles and digital channels used by the network progresses.
