The Mossos are searching the coast from the mouth of the Besòs to Badalona and a mile offshore to locate the 12-year-old boy with autism, who went missing on October 4 in Granollers during the storm.
The operation to find Rami, the 12-year-old boy with autism who disappeared on October 4 in Granollers, has added a new front: the sea. The Mossos d'Esquadra have deployed boats to search the coast from the mouth of the Besòs River towards Badalona and Barcelona, as well as a mile offshore, according to Bombers.
The land search remains active with around fifty firefighters and 25 units concentrated mainly in basins and inland waters. They are joined by members of the GRAE mountain and underwater teams, the canine group of the GRCR, units from the GRAF and EPAF, and the drone team from the Aerial Media Unit, which inspects sections of the river and later analyses the captured images.
The search focused this Tuesday on the entire stretch of the Besòs, from the height of Sant Fost de Campsentelles to the sea. At the same time, Bombers and Mossos, along with civil volunteers, are combing the urban area near the point where the boy went missing.
The search area has been expanded to a radius of eight kilometres to the north and south and three kilometres to the east and west, covering a total of 7,700 hectares, in addition to 18 kilometres of river.
Rami escaped from home in the early hours, presumably frightened by the sound of thunder during the torrential rains that hit the Catalan coast and pre-coastal areas. Since then, there have been no updates, apart from images captured by the cameras of the Hotel Ciutat de Granollers on the same day he went missing, showing him walking.
The family has explained that the boy has communication difficulties as he does not speak, so authorities warn that he may be disoriented. In case of any sighting, it is essential not to lose sight of him whenever possible and to call 112 immediately.
Anyone wishing to volunteer should go to the Unitat de Comandament Mitjana (UCM), set up at the Palau d'Esports de Granollers, where instructions are given to civil volunteers.
