A man was shot in the arm and arrived on his own at CAP de la Mina, in Sant Adrià de Besòs. He left the centre out of fear of reprisals and was located at a Mossos police station.

The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a new shooting in Sant Adrià de Besòs. The victim, a man of Maghreb origin, arrived at the CAP de la Mina, in the square of Maria Àngels Rosell, with a gunshot wound to the arm area. It was around eleven o'clock on Tuesday night.

The man was driving his own vehicle and was conscious upon arrival, although the injury was serious, according to initial reports. At least one of the shots also hit the car.

However, he did not wait at the medical centre. He left out of fear that he would be attacked again and went to a Mossos d'Esquadra police station in Barcelona, where he explained that unknown individuals had shot at him.

From that police station, an ambulance from the Sistema de Emergencias Médicas (SEM) took him to Hospital del Mar, in Barcelona, where he remains hospitalised but out of danger. The Mossos have opened an investigation, which has been taken over by the División de Investigación Criminal (DIC), and they hope to take his statement more calmly.

The police suspect that the attackers are known to the victim, although no further details have been confirmed so far. The progress of the investigation will need to clarify this.

This is the fourth known incident involving firearms in Catalonia in just a few hours. The latest was in the Llefià neighbourhood of Badalona, where several shots were fired from a car without causing injuries.

In Figueres, a woman was injured in the head in an incident under investigation: it appears that shots were fired into the air to celebrate a birthday. The woman's husband and brother-in-law are in prison.

On Friday night, in Maspujols, several witnesses reported a shooting at a house in Rocabruna. The Mossos confirmed one injury and arrested two people related to a supposed drug-related robbery to steal the marijuana found in the warehouse.

Less than twenty days ago, a similar episode occurred in the same neighbourhood: a man with a gunshot wound presented himself at the CAP de la Mina. The case is still under investigation.

"I was afraid they would hurt me again," the man explained to the Mossos.
