Two mossos d'Esquadra who were off duty disarmed a man who wanted to attack a woman with a knife in a bar. The incident occurred this Tuesday just before 12:30 PM.
Two officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra who were off duty in a bar near the Ciutat de la Justícia, between Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, prevented a knife attack. The events took place shortly before 12:30 PM this Tuesday.
According to witnesses, a man approached a woman with a large knife and attempted to attack her. Some patrons of the establishment noticed the weapon and began urging him to drop it.
Then the two mossos intervened, who happened to be in the same bar. They managed to disarm the man and subdue him on the ground before the situation escalated.
Shortly afterwards, police reinforcements arrived, took charge of the suspect, and transported him to police facilities.
The man was arrested as a suspected perpetrator of a attempted assault. So far, no further personal details about the arrested individual have been disclosed, nor whether he has a criminal record.
Investigators are trying to determine what triggered the incident and what the relationship was between the suspect and the woman. Once interrogated at the police station, the suspect will be brought before a judge.
