Lleida vendor distributes record €71 million Eurojackpot prize

A lucky ticket sold in Lleida has won the largest Eurojackpot prize in ONCE history, totaling €71 million. This monumental win marks a significant moment for the local community and its lottery vendors.

A staggering €71 million was awarded to a ticket sold by Sergio Martín Aznar, a vendor in Lleida, marking the largest prize ever distributed by ONCE in Spain. The announcement came after the Eurojackpot draw this past Friday, bringing unexpected joy to both the seller and the local community.

Sergio, who has been selling lottery tickets for three and a half years, expressed his excitement: “

¡Viva, ole ole ole! Me he estrenado a lo grande

.” This win is particularly special for him as he had never before distributed such a substantial amount; his previous prizes were modest sums ranging from €200 to €500.

The impact of this win extends beyond just one individual. The ONCE organization reported that Catalunya experienced an exceptional day with another significant payout of €53.6 million awarded in Badalona. There, vendor Nieves Fernández Arenas also celebrated her role in distributing life-changing winnings.

This historic event highlights the growing popularity of Eurojackpot across Europe, which operates in 19 countries and has become synonymous with life-altering fortunes. The last major jackpot prior to this was recorded at around €60 million, making this recent win not only remarkable but also indicative of increasing stakes within European lotteries.

The excitement surrounding these wins is palpable within Lleida. Local businesses are already anticipating an influx of visitors eager to celebrate or perhaps try their luck at future draws. Community leaders have expressed hope that such events can stimulate local tourism and commerce.

For those interested in participating in upcoming draws or simply wanting to experience the buzz surrounding lottery sales, tickets are available at various locations throughout Lleida. Vendors like Sergio will continue selling tickets daily, providing opportunities for more residents to dream big.

This monumental win serves as a reminder of how quickly fortunes can change and reinforces the importance of community support for local vendors who play a crucial role in these events.
