An Unprecedented Musical Agenda
The Maresme region, located on the Catalan coast, is gearing up to welcome a summer season filled with festivals and musical events that promise to attract both locals and tourists. With a calendar spanning from May to October, Maresme positions itself as a key destination for music lovers.
From rock and pop to jazz, habaneras, and more experimental proposals, the musical offerings are as diverse as they are appealing. The Floral Festival of Vilassar de Mar, taking place from May 23 to 25, will kick off this vibrant season with performances focused on contemporary genres.
As summer progresses, the intensity of events increases. In June, the Can Reon Festival in Tiana will offer contemporary music in an idyllic natural setting. Additionally, Músics en Residència will celebrate its 16th edition in Alella, while Santa Susanna will establish itself as an international meeting point with its Psychobilly Meeting from June 30 to July 7.
July will be particularly notable for the return of Canet Rock on the 4th, where artists like Figa Flawas and Els Catarres will share the stage. Arenys de Mar will also host the Jazz Festival and the 19th edition of the Music Festival in the Lourdes Grotto.
Not only will music take centre stage this summer; Santa Susanna will present its ambitious project Mar d’Estiu from July 31 to August 17. This event will combine music with unique gastronomic experiences and will feature stellar performances by Zucchero and Miguel Ríos.
Despite the end of summer, musical activity will not cease. September will see the continuation of emblematic festivals such as the Mediterranean Guitar Festival and other highlighted events until December. The programming includes innovative proposals like the Festival Sense Portes in Argentona and the Early Music Week in Mataró.
Maresme is not only known for its stunning natural landscapes; it is now firmly establishing itself as a vibrant cultural hub thanks to its rich musical agenda. With activities scheduled throughout the year, this Catalan region invites everyone to enjoy not only concerts but also a complete experience that combines art, culture, and gastronomy.
