PSC spokesperson Lluïsa Moret asserts that Alberto Núñez Feijóo will never be president of Spain if he does not understand Catalonia. She also criticises the PP for renouncing its Senate lists in Girona and Tarragona.

According to diariosigloxxi.com, the deputy first secretary and spokesperson of the PSC, Lluïsa Moret, has accused Alberto Núñez Feijóo of using Catalonia as an electoral weapon. She made this statement this Monday at a press conference at the party's headquarters, in response to comments made by the PP president in a recent interview.

Feijóo claimed that a government president cannot be one without understanding Catalonia and without making explicit commitments to it. Moret replied that the popular leader is insensitive to Catalonia's particularities and went further in her accusation:

«Feijóo will never be president of Spain because he has been absolutely insensitive to the reality and to the characteristics, the specificities and the singularities of Catalonia».

The socialist spokesperson also reproached the PP for its opposition to measures that, in her view, sought to restore coexistence, including amnesty, autonomous financing, and the use of Catalan in Europe. For Moret, the latest episode is the PP's decision not to present lists for the Senate in Girona and Tarragona, ceding that representation to Vox, a party that, according to her, aims to go against Catalan self-government.

«Therefore, it is not worthy of representing Catalans».

Regarding the candidates' debate for Barcelona on TVE, scheduled for this Monday, its postponement is due to the train accident in Urda (Toledo). Moret has assured that the PSC and its candidate, Minister Jordi Hereu, will comply with the new schedule set by Televisión Española.

On the PP's criticism regarding the change of date, the spokesperson responded with irony towards Albiol, whom she accused of placing too much importance on displays and controversies.

«I believe that Televisión Española has other priorities than to harm Mr. Albiol».
