Five minors have been detained and 72 remain under supervised release due to the disturbances on October 24 in Barcelona. The High Court of Justice of Catalonia confirms that there are no pending cases.

The juvenile courts in Barcelona have completed their hearings regarding the disturbances from the Blocus call on October 24. According to the report from the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), 79 minors detained passed through the juvenile sections between October 25 and October 31.

The judges ordered closed regime detention for five of them. 72 were placed under supervised release and, in 32 of those cases, a ban on attending protests was added. In two cases, no precautionary measures were agreed upon.

Minors can only be detained for a maximum of 48 hours without a resolution on their situation, so the judges first addressed the most urgent and serious cases. Afterwards, the minors who had been released were summoned progressively throughout the rest of the week.

In addition to the hearings, according to the TSJC, the necessary interviews were conducted and the technical reports for each minor were reviewed before the judges made their decisions. As a result, there are no pending judicial hearings in the city regarding these disturbances.

For the residents of Barcelona, the judicial chapter of Blocus is thus closed. The restrictions on attending protests affecting 32 minors are part of the measures imposed in each case and have not been lifted.
