The local government responds to the accusations
The Badalona City Council has addressed the recent statements from the Prosecutor's Office regarding the eviction of the B9 building, a topic that has generated controversy in the community. In an official statement, the council expressed its surprise and disagreement with the allegations made by the Public Ministry, emphasizing that there is already a judicial resolution that supports its actions.
According to the municipal government, the judge in charge of the case issued a resolution on February 20, 2026, specifying that the authorization to carry out the eviction “did not condition” this action on the provision of housing alternatives for the occupants. This clarification is crucial for understanding the City Council's stance in light of the criticisms received.
The council also emphasized a comprehensive report prepared by the municipal Social Services technicians, sent to the judge on December 31. This document, which consists of 20 pages, meticulously details the background and events that occurred during the eviction. It includes names, dates, and all communications between the City Council and the Generalitat of Catalonia related to this process.
One of the most notable points in the report is that 55 vulnerable individuals were identified, who were referred to appropriate housing resources after the eviction.
