An 18-year-old, administrator of Blocus coordination groups, has been arrested in Barcelona. This is the seventh arrest related to these events in Catalonia.

The Catalan police arrested a 18-year-old on Saturday in Barcelona, while the operation by the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guardia Urbana prevented the repeat of the disturbances and looting that the anonymous group Blocus had called for in the city centre.

The Councillor for the Interior, Núria Parlon, defended this deployment during the control session of the Govern, in response to questions from the PP and Vox. Parlon credited the police forces with the merit of stopping a new action by the collective.

“We fight against crime. There is still much work to be done, that is true, but we are combating it by giving more resources to the police.”

With this arrest, there are seven young people detained in Catalonia for spreading and instigating these disturbances. Two of them were made in collaboration with the National Police, which has also carried out arrests linked to these instigators in other parts of Spain.

The investigation has established that the young woman managed messaging groups created to coordinate participants in the disturbances in the Catalan capital. According to police data, access to one of these groups was disseminated via a poster on TikTok with a QR code that led directly to a WhatsApp channel.

For the residents of Barcelona, the episode confirms that the call circulates through social networks and messaging applications, and that the police presence remains on the streets of the centre. Information about this case will be expanded, as indicated by the news itself.
